What is FHICO Modified Plaster?
FHICO Modified Plaster is the premium performance plaster in the current FHICO range. It is engineered around surface finish, hardness, moisture resistance, adhesion, dimensional stability and long-term surface performance.

How is Modified Plaster different from ordinary ready made plaster?
It uses a more advanced performance architecture designed around matrix engineering, controlled particle architecture, moisture management, bonding modification and microstructure refinement.
Is Modified Plaster damp-proof?
FHICO Modified Plaster is being developed for high damp resistance and low water absorption. ‘100% damp-proof’ should not be interpreted as meaning that plaster can stop every source of building moisture.
Why can't plaster alone eliminate every damp problem?
Dampness may originate from plumbing leakage, external water penetration, rising damp, roofs, foundations, structural cracks or continuously wet masonry. The underlying moisture source must be identified and treated where necessary.
Can Modified Plaster reduce capillary moisture movement?
Its performance architecture is designed to create a denser plaster matrix and reduce capillary moisture movement compared with conventional plaster, subject to validated performance and correct application.
Is it suitable for damp-prone walls?
It is being specifically developed for enhanced performance under demanding wall conditions. However, active leakage or serious rising damp should be corrected before plastering.
Is Modified Plaster paint-ready?
It is designed to provide a fine, uniform premium surface suitable for high-quality finishing. The actual subsequent coating/putty requirement should follow the condition of the completed surface and the paint manufacturer’s system requirements.
